It is 2195 and after an ice age and nuclear war, a new Victorian age has been born. New technology and manners are the basis of this world. It has been one year since Nora Dearly’s father died, or so she thinks. Soon, after Nora gets home from boarding school, she is kidnapped by zombies of all people. But these zombies are “cured” zombies and don’t want to hurt her. Somehow she manages to trust and eventually love one of the zombies, Bram. But they know that there is no way for them to be together forever because the cure only lasts five years. As the two come together more troubles come in front of both them. Will they be able to help the world they have come to know or will they lose what the pair values most?

This book was great. The alternating perspectives really helped the story. I loved how the relationship between Nora and Bram was portrayed. I loved the word choice in this book; it really made the book even better. This was defiantly the best zombie book I have ever read. I recommend this book to people who liked Rot and Ruin, Fallen, Beautiful Creatures, and Hunger Games.

Blood Wounds is written by Susan Beth Pfeffer, it is 256 pages long, and I would give it 3 and a half out of 5 stars.

Willa knows she is fortunate. She lives in an almost perfect family. Though she doesn’t get everything she wants like her sisters, she is happy. But when Willa’s father, that she hardly remembers, kills his wife and children and is on his way for her, her life spirals out of control. With everything that happened, Willa uncovers secrets that her mother hid from her and a family. Will Willa make everything better or will Willa destroy everything she loves?

This book was okay. I felt that it was very rushed throughout. Since this book was written in first person, it helped me to see how Willa really felt about everything. This book showed to me that a perfect family really isn’t perfect. I recommend this book to people who liked Identical and Thirteen Reasons Why.

Juliet Immortal is written by Stacey Jay, it is 306 pages long, and I would give it three and a half out of five stars.

Everyone thinks that Juliet died. They are wrong. She didn’t kill herself, Romeo did. He killed her because he wanted to become immortal. And by doing this he became a spirit that took bodies that were dead and tried to break up true loves. What he didn’t expect is that Juliet would become an agent for the Ambassadors of Life. Her job is to keep true loves together. For seven hundred years, Juliet has been doing her job and Romeo his, until they don’t. They could become human again if they fell in love again, but Juliet has fallen for another and Romeo will do everything to stop them.

This book was okay. You could really understand Juliet’s point and also Romeo’s. I loved the concept for this book at the beginning but as the story continued on, it got boring. Almost all the characters were perfectly developed. I would recommend this book to people who liked Falling Under and Eden.

Night Circus is written by Erin Morgenstern, it is 400 pages, and I would give it 4 and a half out of 5 stars.

The circus arrives without warning. Inside it is like a dream. But what people don’t know is that a battle of skills is taking place in this black and white circus. Because their instructors set up this contest, Celia and Marco are bound to fight. But they don’t know that they must fight until only one is left standing. As the battles escalate, Celia and Marco are thrown headfirst in love. But their instructions refuse to let this happen. Soon the game is just a wondrous place that they can show their dreams. The only problem is that the instructors must have a winner.

This book was great. The beginning was extremely long, and that is one of the things I don’t like. The few I also did not like how the story jumped from one time to another but the story continued I understand why the author wrote it that way. I absolutely adored the way that about 5 pages of the book were written in 2nd person about you being in the circus. This really helped the book come more alive even though most I usually like books more if they are written in first person. I know that would not have been possible with this book. Lastly, loved that the magic wasn’t spells but illusions. I recommended this book to people who liked Hunger Games, Beastly, Harry Potter, Twilight, Tigers Curse, Beastly, Beautiful Creatures, and Vampire Academy.

Awake at Dawn is written by C. C. Hunter, it is 383, and I would give it 4 out of 5 stars

Kylie is just starting to feel normal at Shadow Falls camp, where she lives with witches, fae, vampires and, of course, werewolves. Suddenly a ghost comes and tells Kylie that someone she loves is about to die and she is the only one who can stop it. But the ghost won’t give any clues to who is about to die. On top of all that Kylie starts
gaining odd powers like enjoying blood and superhuman speed and strength. Just as Kylie is about to be with Derek for real, he starts pulling away, and Lucas
shows up in her dreams. A weekend away with her mom should help Kylie feel better but she might not even make it back to Shadow Falls alive.

Awake at Dawn was pretty good. I thought it could use more descriptions of the settings but this helped me imagine it how I thought it should be. The characters were descriptive in their thoughts and feelings. I recommend this book to people who like the House of Night series, Hush, hush, Nightshade, Fallen and Hex Hall.

Forgotten is written by Cat Patrick, it is 288 pages long, and I would give it 5/5 stars.

Every day at 4:33 am, London Lane loses the day’s memories. The only memories she recalls from the day before is what she writes in her notes and if she forgets it’s gone forever. The only way she recalls simple memories that she doesn’t write down are from her future memories. So when she meets a Luke Henry that shows up in a lot of future memories, she realizes that the might be important. But what will happen when she decides not to write about him?

I loved this book. London’s daily pains and hardships are portrayed perfectly as well as her triumphs and happy moments. I loved the moments with Luke and her relationship with him. The setting of high school was perfect for this book. I recommend this book to people who like Elixir, Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, and If I Stay.

Passion is written by Lauren Kate, it is 420 pages long, andI would give it four and a half stars out of five.

This book starts off right were the Torment left off, after Luce jumps into the Announcer. As Luce travels through her past reincarnations, she discovers what really happened between herself and Daniel. With some helpfrom a little gargoyle friend, she discovers what Daniel was hiding from her. But soon Luce starts to doubt whether he loves her or just her soul. Will their relationship survive the journey?

This book was great. I loved how descriptive the setting and characters were. I did not like that the story had no background to it. I recommend this book to people who liked Hush, hush, Banished, Delirium, andNightshade.

Divergent is written by Veronica Roth, it is 487 pages long and I would give it 5/5 stars.

In the city that used to be Chicago, there are five factions. Each faction represents a quality that will determine the rest of your life. Beatrice has always lived in Abnegation, the selfless, and that is whatshe is expected to choose on her 16th birthday. Instead she chooses the faction that no one expects her to choose and turns her into Tris. Her choice will take her away from her family and push her to places she never thought she would go. But how will her choices change her?

I loved this book. It is the perfect dystopia book. Throughout the whole book I could picture myself in Tris’s world. I loved the depth behind her and other characters like Four. I recommend this book to people who liked Matched, the Giver, Gathering Blue, Delirium, Hunger Games series and the Roar.

Solstice is written by P.J. Hoover, it is 189 pages long and I would give it a 4 and 1/2 out of 5 stars.

For 18 years, the world had been in Global Heating Crisis, a summer that never ends. For Piper, it has been going on her whole life. She has never seen a snowball or seen the leaves turn in Autumn. With her over protective mother and a crazy, wild, friend she decides to take some risks in her life like dating behind her mother’s back. Soon, she is thrown into another world where Greek gods reside and she may be the one to change the world.

This book was great. At first I thought it jumped into the main part of the story too fast. Later I realized this was needed to get everything in. I loved how the gods seemed like real people and how relatable Piper was. The setting of a world in global warming was perfectly described. I recommend this book to people who liked the Mortal Instruments series, the Lightning Thief, the Red Pyramid, and the Lost Hero.

He knows her inside and out, but when her mysterious Aunt Ava shows up and starts giving her gifts Arianna is drawn to the riches of Ava’s world. When Arianna starts having dreams of a mysterious stranger, she is instantly drawn to him too. Soon when Arianna agrees to stay with Ava in her beach house, she meets her mysterious stranger. Will she choose her archangel or the man she is drawn too?

I loved Eden. It took a while to get into but once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. I read the whole book in one night. I loved that I could relate to Arianna and she seemed like a real person. I was drawn to the characters because their feelings were made so real through the entire book. The setting and whole plot made me want to jump into the book. I recommend this book to people who liked The Dark Divine, Hush, Hush, Beautiful Creatures, Angelfire, and Elixir.
